FAQ's
Q: What is my donation and support used for? Who does it go to?
A: 100% of your donation goes directly to The Freedom 13 Organization, a 501(c)3 non-profit, and will be used to construct Recreational Healing Camps for US military veterans & Law Enforcement and their immediate families. In addition, we will be giving access to the Gold Star Families. Our goal is to build one in each state across the Country – 50 total.
Each of The Freedom 13 Recreational Healing Camps will be built on 100+ acres of land or larger, consisting of 13 homes; 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom & 3 bedrooms. All homes will be ADA compliant and service-dog friendly and we’ll be using smart technology whenever possible.
Activities will include boating (kayaks/canoes), fishing, swimming, hunting, shooting range, 5 miles of trails for hiking or exploring, basketball, pickleball and other family focused activities.
We plan to partner with independent, certified third party service providers, covering mental health assistance areas such as PTSD & suicide prevention along with service dog placement, etc.
Q: How much does it cost to build a Recreational Healing Camp?
A: Our initial estimates put the price tag between $3.5 million and $4.5 million dollars.
Q: Who is eligible to stay at the Camps?
A: Any Veteran or law enforcement and their immediate fmaily is welcome to stay for a week (Veterans must provide a valid DD214 through the vetting process).
Q: Where is the first Recreational Healing Camp being built?
A. Jared was born and raised in Missouri, so it made perfect sense for us to build the first Recreational Camp in his home state. We have secured our first camp in Bourbon, MO on 171 acres. As of Oct 2024 we have 2 homes already on the property, inground swimming pool, pickleball and basketball courts, hunting, fishing and riding trails. We are breaking ground on 3 more homes early summer 2026.
Once completed, it’ll be a safe place for veterans and their families to take a knee, reboot, meet fellow veterans, spending quality time together, resting and relaxing all while forging new friendships and creating new, positive memories.
Q: Will there be a Village in my state? How can I get involved in bringing one to my state?
A. Our goal is to build one in each state across the Country – 50 total. States that can offer up very usable donated land will take priority.
